The 13th founding anniversary of Oikkajeet Sangeet Academy, a renowned cultural institution located in Tongi, Dhaka, was celebrated with a vibrant cultural program on January 28, 2026.

The academy premises resonated with performances by its talented students, creating a captivating atmosphere throughout the event. The program began at 4:00 pm and continued until 10:00 pm, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, guardians, and music lovers, which made the evening lively and memorable.

A special highlight of the celebration was the spellbinding performance by acclaimed classical vocalist Saiful Taankar. He commenced his recital with a Khayal in Raag Puriya Dhanashree, demonstrating his mastery over classical music. He later enthralled the audience with Bengali songs and ghazals, weaving a rich and melodious musical ambiance.

He was accompanied on the tabla by eminent tabla player Prashanta Kumar Das, whose rhythmic support added depth to the performance. Prior to the recital, Saiful Taankar and Prashanta Kumar Das were honored with commemorative crests, presented by the institution’s director, Brajendra Nath.

The event concluded on a high note, reflecting the academy’s continued commitment to nurturing musical excellence and cultural heritage.
