Tollywood actress Puja Banerjee has once again found herself at the center of controversy. Just days ago, she garnered public sympathy after emotionally revealing that she had been financially betrayed by a close friend. However, in a dramatic twist, the wife of that very friend has now leveled serious allegations against Puja.

Malabika De, wife of producer Shyam Sundar, took to her social media to share what she called a “tragic and alarming” incident that no family should ever face.

According to Malabika, during a business trip to Goa, her husband Shyam was forcibly taken from his car and abducted, allegedly under the leadership of Puja Banerjee herself. He was taken to an unknown location, where he was threatened, beaten, and told he would be framed in a drug case unless he paid ₹6.4 million (64 lakh). Under extreme fear and pressure, Shyam was forced to hand over ₹2.3 million (23 lakh).

Malabika claims that part of the money was given in cash to Puja’s assistant Munmun, while the rest was transferred via RTGS to bank accounts belonging to Puja and her associate Kunal. She further stated that all bank statements, receipts, and relevant evidence have been carefully preserved.

In her post, Malabika added:
“My husband was mentally tortured in Goa. He was blackmailed with threats of false drug allegations unless he paid a large sum. Puja and Kunal allegedly snatched his phone, forced access to his personal data and passwords, and even compelled him to record multiple videos stating things according to their script.”

She confirmed that her husband was later rescued safely with the help of Goa Police, under the supervision of the North Goa SP.

According to Indian media reports, police have filed an FIR against Puja, Kunal, and Munmun under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Shyam’s family has already shared with the media a copy of the FIR, bank transfer records, WhatsApp screenshots containing threats, voice messages, and a formal thank-you note from the police.

While Puja Banerjee has not yet responded in detail to the allegations, she did issue a brief statement saying, “The truth will come out soon.”

The incident has stirred up massive controversy in the Tollywood industry, with further legal proceedings expected to unfold in the coming days.
