Teen actress Neetanshi Goel, who rose to fame playing the role of Phool in Kiran Rao’s critically acclaimed film Laapataa Ladies, made a dazzling debut on the red carpet of the 78th Cannes Film Festival.

On the third day of the festival, Neetanshi attended the premiere of Dominik Moll’s French crime drama The Night of the 12th (La Nuit du 12). For the occasion, she wore a stunning custom black and gold gown designed by the duo Monica & Karishma. The corset bodice of the gown featured golden floral motifs, while the lower part was adorned with intricate macramé and tulle work. Designer Monica Shah stated, “The gown was created to reflect Neetanshi’s softness and the sparkle in her eyes.”

Earlier, Neetanshi also attended the inauguration of the India Pavilion at Cannes. She appeared in an ivory-colored custom pre-draped saree embellished with pearls. Her braided hair was accessorized with unique ornaments that showcased portraits of legendary Bollywood actresses like Madhubala, Rekha, Sridevi, and Hema Malini. This heartfelt tribute on an international stage received much appreciation.

Speaking to the media at Cannes, Neetanshi said:
“I feel butterflies in my stomach! I’m the kind of girl who can inspire other girls to dream. This is my moment—and I hope it encourages others to believe in theirs.”

Born on June 12, 2007, in Nadiya, Uttar Pradesh, 17-year-old Neetanshi Goel has already gained massive popularity, with over 10.7 million followers on Instagram.

Before Laapataa Ladies, she acted in several films and series including M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Masoom Sawaal, Maidaan, Inside Edge, and Indu Sarkar. In addition, she is also a trained Kathak dancer.
